Band

Hello reader,

Today I thought I might elaborate what Band is to me. To me a parade is more than floats, clowns, horses, and classic cars.

No, to me a parade is my time to shine.

Take control of a street that is usually unattainable with cars

Just me and my band <3.

In case some people don't know, a Drum Major is the person In front of the band leading, directing, managing the band. I have been the Drum Major for my school since sophomore year. Which is huge! Due to the fact that most people can't be drum major till their senior or junior year.

Football Season

Although I am not a Huge Football Fan (basketball FTW), I do enjoy football games. Its fun seeing the trombones do suicides or the band dancing to a cadence. The uniforms keep us warm on the cold nights. Although they can run pretty late into the evening and we have to wake up at 5 the next morning I deal with it. My schools team isn't the best, the band cracks jokes from time to time. Football players do the same, we learn to cope with their stupidity and they learn to live in the shadows of our trophies. (Their not all bad.) 

Basketball Season

For me Basketball is more exciting, fast paced, and enjoyable. Plus its indoors. No freezing cold for me.

We also play about half the time compared to the playing time during football games.

My school’s marching band participates in the Arcadia Band Review. meaning we are in the top 50 marching bands in Southern California. Tragically, marching band has been dying for the last 25 years. People just aren't willing to put in the effort like they used too. I'm hoping one day that will change.
